Okay, these are the rules for RPGs held on this board.
1) The creator of each RPG has creative control. Basically, what this means, is that the creator has the last say in how the game goes from start to finish.
2) Please type legibly.[/u] This includes using proper spelling and grammar. People are more likely to respond to your RPG requests or posts if you do so.
3) Please type atleast two paragraphs for your post.[/u] I will not tolerate one-word or one-line posts in RPGs. A paragraph consists of four or more sentences. This means you have to type atleast eight or more sentences in your post.
4) No God-Modding. Period. There's nothing more that I hate than a person who creates this Super-Elite-Mary-Sue with God powers. Meaning you can't make your character super invincible. And not everyone is going to like your character.
5) Avoid creating Mary-Sue characters.[/u] This includes characters who are flawless or ones that have nothing but flaws. Everyone likes them.. They're a source of comfort.. They're only fourteen years old and have their RN and MD and PHD... They're the ones who always falls in love with a main character.. or have many canon characters fall in love with them.. They have a super tragic past.. They're super angsty/emo adolescents who cut themselves and talk back to their parents..They're vampire/lycan/android/faery/royal/pirate/ninja/nurse/maid/slave/neko mixes! Yeah, you get the idea. Oh, and let's not forget.. They're most likely an Uchiha, too!
6) No bringing drama outside the roleplay into the game.[/u] This means that if you don't like a person outside the RPG that you shouldn't make your character hate their character. Remember, it's a game. These characters usually don't have your same beliefs, biases, memories or what have you. This doesn't go to say that a character doesn't have the right to not like another character. Just do what's appropriate for the story and leave the drama out. It drains the fun, really it does.
7) Keep Out of Character comments to a minimum.[/u] If you absolutely must say something Out of Character please put the "OOC:" tab in front of what you're saying and then "IC:" before you make your post. If you want to discuss the RPG then go to the Discussions board for that.
8) Some explicit material is allowed[/u]. However, you have to post in your thread topic the rating for your RPG.
18+ is for Mature Audiences.
16+ is for audiences over the age of 16.
13+ is probably what's going to be mostly posted.
Even though some RPGs are going to be 18+ it doesn't mean that super explicit material can be put into these posts. Like I said with the other rules; softcore sexual situations are allowed but nothing graphic; no use of illegal substances; prostitution is only acceptable if it fits its time period( like if it were for geisha or whore houses in the 1800's or even in modern day human trafficking ). The only time prostitution will be acceptable is if it is only described briefly.
9) Post Audition forms in their appropriate spot.[/u] There is a specific forum under Roleplaying Adventures called Auditions. There you can describe the story of your RPG and make a Character template for people to use when they audition.
10) Canon Characters are allowed[/u] only if the person can play them well. No making Canon characters into Mary-Sues, meaning that they're completely different from their original character. However, the only way you'll be able to use a Canon character in an RPG is if you prove your skill in roleplaying as them including knowledge of the character.
11) Swearing is allowed[/u] if the situation calls for it or if it applies to your character.
12) Last but not least, Have Fun![/u]
Please check back here because the rules are subject to additions or modifications.
